Dissection of 12 step program. step 8

In this series, we will dissect the mainstream 12 step programs and prove point by point why its totally unless and why it shouldn't be used on people that suffer from game addiction

This is step number 8.

Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.

OK, this one makes perfect sense and its 100% truth. Hats off to this point. Yes, the game addict has probably harmed a lot of people by spending most of the time gaming and ignoring family, friends and other important tasks. Admitting to this is admitting that the game addict made a mistake. Admitting making a mistake is the first step to learning and changing.

Saying sorry and trying to make it up to the people the game addict have harmed is the right thing to do.

Notice however that for the first time in the 12 step program, the game addict is suddenly responsible. It amuses me that the previous seven steps, it was someone else (God) that the game addict should turn to in order to change. Now suddenly the game addict is responsible for making it up to the people that he or she hurt?

This point stays as it is:

Made a list of all persons we had harmed and became willing to make amends to them all.
